Hans Eichner

Hans Eichner, born in 1921, fled his hometown Vienna, Austria, during the Holocaust. He eventually settled in Canada, where he taught German Studies at universities. In the early ’90s, his novel Kahn & Engelmann became a bestseller in Austria and Germany. In 2009, the translation of the book, a powerful story of displaced European Jews, was published by Biblioasis, just three days after the author’s death.
