Darla Middlebrook

Darla is originally from Ohio, but has lived in Saskatchewan for more than half of her life. She performed in many stage productions in Canada and the US while continuing with her “day job” of a Speech Language Pathologist in the schools in several Saskatchewan communities. Happily, Darla was able to retire from the field of speech pathology in June 2009 and devote her time to theatre work and voice over acting – specifically audio book narration/storytelling.

Darla has obtained general training as a Voice Over Actor with Edge Studio (New York) in June and July of 2010. She trained with Vanessa Hart (audio books, narrative and dialogue) from June 2010 through December, 2010. Darla also trained with Julie Williams (documentary narrative, legal text, and medical narration) from June 2010 through December, 2010.

She received her diploma as a Certified Medical Narration Specialist in January, 2011 as result of training with Julie Williams.

Darla continues to hone and update her skills via classes, workshops and volunteer narration opportunities.
Currently, Darla is one of several Voice Over artists who lend their voices to AIRS-LA: Audio Internet Reading Service of Los Angeles. Darla voices the CAT FANCY magazine podcasts for AIRS-LA.
