Max Phillips
Max Phillips is a co-founder of the pulp revival imprint Hard Case Crime, for which he wrote the Shamus-winning Fade to Blonde. Under the name Forrest DeVoe Jr, he writes the Mallory and Morse series of 60s-era spy novels, which includes Into the Volcano and Eye of the Archangel. His debut novel Snakebite Sonnet was praised by Entertainment Weekly as providing “a gorgeous mesh of erotic exactitude, heaps of wit, and generous, weary wisdom” and his second novel, The Artist's Wife, was a New York Times Notable Book for 2001. He lives with his wife and son in New York City.
